Vocabulary

The i3X annotation vocabulary

This URI identifies the annotation terms InnovaEdge adds to a W3C Web of Things Thing Description. If you arrived here from a machine-readable document, this page is what that identifier means.

01 — What uses it

Where you will have seen this URI.

InnovaEdge exports a digital twin object as a W3C WoT Thing Description. Terms that are specific to i3X — rather than part of the WoT vocabulary itself — carry the i3x prefix, bound to this URI in the document's @context:

Prefix binding

"@context": ["https://www.w3.org/2022/wot/td/v1.1", {"i3x": "https://innovaplatform.org/i3x#"}]

Scope

Annotation terms only. The structure of a Thing Description — properties, actions, forms, security — is the W3C vocabulary and is not redefined here.

Stability

This URI is a permanent identifier. It is not a versioned API endpoint and it will not be repointed at a different meaning; a term whose meaning changes gets a new term.

Distinct from the type namespace

This is the vocabulary of annotation terms. The namespace that identifies a tenant's own type library is separate — seethe twin type namespace.

02 — Why it is on this domain

A namespace URI is a global identity.

It has to be an identifier we actually control, or it is a claim on a name belonging to someone else. It also has to answer when dereferenced, which is what this page is for. Neither costs a customer anything; both are the difference between a namespace and a string that looks like one.
