01 — The object
Three optional fields on a checkout.
A platform that negotiates this capability may include a quote object on Create Checkout or Update Checkout. Every field is optional; unknown fields are ignored, never rejected.
quote.company
String, up to 160 characters. The buyer's organisation. The standard buyer object has no company field, and the hand-off form needs one; a checkout is not ready_for_complete without it. A longer value is truncated to 160 characters, not rejected — the checkout still completes, so nothing an agent sends here can fail a sale on length alone.
quote.fleet_size
Integer, 1 to 1,000,000. The number of devices the buyer expects to connect. When present, the totals price the metered device floor for that size: devices beyond the tier's included allowance, at the published rate for the band the fleet lands in. Absent, the fee line is $0 and states the starting rate.
quote.segment
One of: industrial, vehicle_fleet, manufacturer, mixed. Anything else is dropped. It pre-selects the matching option on the hand-off form.
02 — What Complete does
It hands the buyer to a person.
Every Complete Checkout returns requires_escalation with a continue_url to the demo form, pre-filled from the buyer name, company, segment and fleet size. Nothing is purchased through the protocol and no payment handler is declared. The buyer's email is never placed in that URL; the person types it on the form. That rule is enforced on the values, not just on the field: any hand-off value containing "@" is dropped from the pre-fill entirely rather than cleaned, and runs of whitespace are collapsed to single spaces.
